The Environment Law and Development Foundation

The Environment Law and Development Foundation (ELD Foundation) is a registered charitable trust established in 2004, which is engaged in strengthening environmental governance through research, education, advocacy, and institutional strengthening for the last 21 years. Our work spans across climate change; biodiversity; disaster mitigation; forests and forest rights; water; livelihood rights; oceans and coasts; wildlife and protected areas; and renewable energy, amongst others.

What we do?

We are dedicated to advancing environmental justice through legal research, education, advocacy, and community engagement. Our work focuses on protecting ecosystems, empowering affected communities with Governments and grassroot-level NGOs, and ensuring that environmental laws are effectively implemented and upheld.

Paryavidhi - Environmental Law Quarterly

Our flagship Environmental Law Quarterly 'Paryavidhi' breaks down complex legal developments and Court orders for the public through articles, policy watch and news from courts sections.

Who we work with?

We work with marginalised communities, panchayats, students, judicial officials, policy makers, regulators, and government authorities.
